Culturally-Focused Teaching Artist
We have a few openings within our 2025 staff for artist/educators, especially those whose art form is rooted in a non-Western cultural tradition.
The educator will spend one week teaching and camping with us and will:
● Have a broad knowledge of their art form and how to share it experientially,
● Be a versatile teacher with experience making their art accessible to all levels and all ages,
● Be a team player who collaborates with other staffers and campers, and
● Be a humble person who is passionate about supporting the artistic growth of others.
Caz Northwest’s model is built around small classes and group activities for children and adults of all skill levels and ages. Kids, parents, and grandparents learn side-by-side, encouraged to take creative risks in a safe and supportive environment. Our goal is to build a community, and we start with shared self-expression, exploration and joy. We see our Caz teachers as community-builders and creative sparks that bring Caz to life.
Teachers at Caz receive simple camp lodging, three meals a day, and a stipend of $1500 per week. They also receive deeply discounted rates for friends or family members who stay with them at camp and join our community of learners. Teachers arrive the day before camp for orientation and an organizational meeting.
